Pakistan Team participating in Pak China Friendship Expedition 2013 to Mt Muztagh Ata (7,548 m) Arrives Mountain’s Base Camp

Alpine Club of Pakistan (ACP) mountaineering team participating in the Pak China Friendship Expedition 2013 to climb 7,548 m high Mt Muztagh Ata, situated in Xinjiang Autonomous Region, People’s Republic of China arrived at 4,200 metre high base camp of the mountain at noon on Wednesday 10th July along with the Chinese members of the Expedition. Earlier the Pakistani side was taken care of by officials of China Mountaineering Association at Kashgar, where they also met met the Chinese members of the Expedition.  

The team leader Mr Rehamtullah speaking from Muztagh Ara Base camp reported that all Pakistani members were in good health and high spirits. The expedition expects to establish climbing route up to Camp I at 5,200 metre within this week after acclimatisation at the Base Camp. The Chinese side is led by Mr. Youngfung, Vice President, China Mountaineering Association and comprises of five climbers including interpreter.
