Pakistani mountaineers climb Broad Peak

A team of Pakistani mountaineers climbed Broad Peak on July 13, 2013. The mountain is 8,047 meters high and is the 12th highest peak of the world.The team comprised of Hassan Jan, Mohammed Taqi, Hassan and Ali, residents of Hushe Village of Baltistan. 
Mohammed Taqi, organizer of the team, while speaking to the media through satellite phone from the base camp of Broad Peak said they had conquered the peak. They would soon leave for Skardu and also would hold a press conference in Islamabad.
In the history of Pakistan, for the first time, a team of Pakistani mountaineers conquered the peak. It may be recalled that first time a team of Austria mountaineers had conquered Broad Peak on June 9, 1957.
